Austin Mini Mayfair 1983 Here you are looking at my 1983 Austin Mini Mayfair 998cc. Tax until November and MOT until mid december 2012. I have had the car for just under a year and love it to bits. It starts fist time every time and is a joy to drive. I have recently had a lot of work done on the car which includes; • New brake shoes all round and all brakes have been readjusted •New wheel bearings all round and the whole hub arrangement changed on the front •New rear subframe •Floor panels in the front have been welded and finished with fibre glass. •Full head gasket replacement and all piston pressures had been checked and adjusted. •New clutch slave cylinder fitted. •New window rubber fitted around the back window. The car does have a small dent on the boot that could be easily and cheaply knocked out and it does have some rust but only in the usual mini places and much less than you would expect from a car of this age. There is some rust underneath the windscreen on the drivers side and some showing through on the front floor panels, however the rear floor panels are completely rust free and so are the arches and both headlamp surrounds (rare for a car of this age!). There is also some surface rust in the boot but this could be easily sanded down in no time. The car has full leather interior with custom dash to match the car, alloy wheels and lots of nice accesories. Insurance is extremely cheap and therefore makes it a great first car for anyone (I'm a 17 year old boy and have fully comp insurance for 1600!).
